I’m guessing you’ve never heard of Elvine Johannessen Tweten (1893-1977). She was a Norwegian immigrant to North America in the early twentieth century, a preacher’s wife, a mother of seven children, a woman of unusual grace and goodness, and, as we learn late in her story, the descendant of a powerful Norwegian family.
